When it comes to weddings…everyone THINKS they have to hold their wedding day on a Saturday..because, well, that just makes sense to most people & they forget about their other options! However, there are only so many Saturdays in the year & they get booked FAST! I really don’t think people realize how many weddings there are a year and how many venues are in a given city – there are tons of weddings and usually only a handful of venues. With that being said, venues & photographers get booked fast! So, if you ever pick a date and the venue of your dreams & photographer or any other vendors happen to be booked – you can always think about changing the day to a FRIDAY! there are so many PROS to having a Friday wedding! Here are just a few:

• After your wedding, you have the rest of the weekend to spend time with family & friends who are in town for the weekend!
• If you leave for your honeymoon the next day, that’s 2 less “weekdays” that you will have to request off of work
• Venues usually run a substantial discounted rate on “off days” (Fridays or Sundays)
• Your closest family & friends can take a day off of work to have some fun!
• You will have more options with dates on the calendar since most couples book on Saturdays!

These are just a few things to think about when it comes to planning your wedding day! We (photographers) are getting into the booking season for 2015 & 2016 now – so if you come across a venue or vendor not being available for a Saturday, think about a Friday wedding! There are so many PROS to it!
