Weekly Recap|Coffee with Chandy

This past week has been plum amazing! I’ve got to meet a few amazing couples & this little tater-tot who just turned one & had his 1st cake smash session!

11013579_10152951729132891_9083285162789788971_nThis week has also been SO aggravating due to the fact that my hosting company that I use to host this website has been completely letting me down lately. Like majorly to the point where I have almost wanted to cry a few select times. My website is part of my livelihood to my business. If my website is down, I miss out on daily inquiries and it just seriously makes my heart feel like it’s in my throat. Blah. I’ve counted that my website has been down over a dozen times in the past 3 weeks. Yeah, I know – terrible. And those are only the times that I’ve counted – who knows if it’s been down more than that. SO – I have been calling in nearly every hour or so to see if anything has been done yet or if they’ve been able to pinpoint the problem on the server. (Yes, I’m totally that business owner right now haha) Every time I call – tech support tells me “they are working on it” & that they can’t give me an exact time that the problem will be fixed. Bummer. I couldn’t even login to my admin area to post this mornings “Coffee With Chandy” installment…so if you’re reading this now, consider it like a “Coffee & Dessert After Dinner” type of post. 🙂

I’m in the process of finding a new hosting company, to say the least. I’ve been using BlueHost for about 2 years now and I’ve NEVER had a problem up until the past month. Crazy, huh? Anywho, soooo that’s that & my rant for the month. So, I appologize if anyone has not been able to access my website lately. 🙁

On the bright side:

I’m getting published for the first time! (*insert jumping heel kick here!!!*) Hill Country Weddings & Events held a contest for photographers. You could submit any engagement photos you’d like into the contest & after submitting & voting, they would choose the TOP 10 photos that were going to be published in the spring issue of the magazine. 3 of my photos were chosen! I couldn’t believe it – 3/10 is pretty flippin’ awesome! I let out a screech when I saw that! Below are the three pictures that will be in the spring issue:

I will definitely post the feature & let you guys know when the issue is out!

I’ve also been working on sprucing up my website a little! Just a taaaad wee-bit. I decided to not completely rebrand my business yet because I think my website is “okay” for the time being. I’m definitely not the kind of girl who thinks “if it’s not broke, don’t fix it” and I am always up for getting new things and looking at new pretty-ness (just ask Daniel lol) …but when it comes to my website – I don’t want to rush it! Branding your business is something that really represents you & your business – & I want to really figure out exactly what I am wanting & how I want to incorporate that into my brand and website. I love so many different things, colors & styles that I think if I tried re-branding it now, it would be ALL.OVER.THE.PLACE. Let’s face it – I’m basically like – “OOOH, glitter! OOOOH, Caligraphy! OOOOOH Modern! OOOOOh Vintage! Vintage everything! No, wait I really like the modern look. Actually, I just like everything.” That’s pretty much my thought process when the thought of re-branding enters my mind. It’s a little overwhelming because I have no clue what I want yet.

My busy wedding season is about to start up and I want to dedicate all of my energy & time into my couples. I am much busier this wedding season than the last & staying on top of my “A” game is my top priority! Lord only knows that it took me hours & hours & hours to create the website you’re looking at now. For someone being so un-tech saavy, I was pretty proud of myself…but I’m definitely not wanting to take on a project like that at the moment since wedding season is RIGHT around the corner. I am planning on re-branding in the winter months of this year when things slow down just a bit. I am however in the works of getting a new logo! *Happy Dance!* I’ve also added the “PIN IT” button over all of the photos on my blog! So now – if you hover your mouse over any of the photos, you will be able to PIN them on Pinterest! Hip Hip Hooray! It’s the little things in life that get me overly giddy. 🙂

I don’t have a huge team behind my brand, it’s just little ole’ me. Everything you see from updating my website, blog posts, responding to emails, sending invoices, contracts, running social media & etc…it’s just one gal trying to make this dream of mine work. I’m pretty proud of how far CCP has come over the past couple of years. I may have done everything myself and learned a lot of things the absolute hardest way possible (I tend to do that more often than not LOL)…but I’m here, I’m learning along the way, I’m thriving and I’m beyond excited for the things to come!

When I think about changing my business…it then leads me to think how much this business has changed me. For the better in every single way. I’ve learned more discipline, responsibility, I’ve been blessed & have seen the fruits of my labors, sacrificed things for the welfare of my business, traveled to some amazing places, broken out of my shy shell & blossomed into who I’m meant to be, but most of all, I’ve created meaningful relationships with some of the most amazing people that I have ever met. There may be a few bumps in the road from time-to-time, but this has been such an amazing journey. I thank the good Lord above for leading me to what I am supposed to be doing. It just feels right…like, I was meant to do this. Yannow? There’s nothing like it, really. Thank you guys for joining me on this exciting adventure! Happy Monday!
