The Times – They Are Changing!

Okay, so – call me nerdy, but I’m REALLY excited about this! OVERLY excited to be exact. I have been using SmugMug for my online galleries. It’s good. It got the job done – but there was nothing exciting about SmugMug. (I really do love SmugMug, so this is not some rant about me bashing them lol) However, I didn’t look at the online gallery and get butterflies in my tummy., yannow? My face didn’t light up thinking – wow, I just LOVE THIS ONLINE GALLERY! I didn’t look at the gallery and just think – wow, these are so beautifully displayed. At the time, I didn’t know you could feel such a way about an online gallery. But, like I said – it was a good way to give an online gallery to my clients – but it didn’t truly engage them in my opinion. It was just an extra add-on to their wedding package and they kindly accepted. lol Little did I know, a great addition to Chandra’s Collection Photography was about to be revealed. Ohhhhh, the times are-uh changing! For the better. I think if we didn’t progress in our business, we would remain stagnant and never open to growth. Which honestly, I am ALL about change! I welcome it with open arms – and if there is something better out there for my clients that will make their faces light up, I’m all bout’ it, bout’ it! The moment when I knew that I had to start doing something different than delivering CD’s to my client was when one of my clients received her package and then text me – “I don’t have a CD drive in my computer, what should I do?” YIKES!!! That was an eye opener and something that really stuck with me to find a change for my business. Yes, I could change to USB drives, but what happens when those are no longer in use? I wanted to find a way and I wanted to find it quickly!

This takes me to what this whole blog post is all about. I have seen PASS floating around Facebook several times, but never really took the time to actually find out what it was all about.

Until, I was hanging out with Laura, my second shooter one day and she was telling me all about it. I was so excited to hear about how to better the experience for my clients. After looking into PASS – I knew there was no turning back.

Here is what PASS is:

How fun was that video?

– An online gallery where all of your images are beautifully displayed. No more scrolling down a web page looking at square images one-by-one! They are in a unique layout according to your photos.

– If you download the PASS app (which is completely FREE might I add) you will be able to have your wedding photos with you at all times. There is even an option to make your photos available without internet connection. So, even if your in the middle of the Amazon jungle & feel like whipping out your phone and re-living your wedding day, you will be able to do so. You can also access your online gallery from any computer as well. Here is a photo of the APP – you can mark your favorites to store in one folder and have the rest still beautifully displayed:

– Sharing. YESSSS to sharing! In the olden days (late 90’s, 1st decade of 2000) photography was all about hoarding your images for yourself so no one would have the chance to steal your work – and forcing your clients to buy tons of prints. Well, let’s face it – sharing is caring and that’s what this day-in-age is all about. With that being said, my clients will be able to share their full wedding gallery in a single second. They can link the gallery to their Facebook, Instagram or Pinterest page. Yeehaw! That way, you can share your wedding photos with ALL of your friends at once instead of having to send email after email with the link (which you can do that as well if you want to). You will also be able to have ALL of your wedding photos with you at all times, so if Aunt Sally really wants to take a look at them again, you will be able to show her.

-You will be able to download all of the images from your online gallery, as well as, order prints if you’d like. SCORE!

– THE BEST PART OF ALL: Your images will be backed up for 10 YEARS! Yes, TEN YEARS! That’s my favorite part of this I think. 🙂 This is with the upgraded gallery – which all of my brides & grooms will receive for their wedding day photos.

– Okay, there’s another part to this that I think is the best part – so consider this “The Best Part: Take 2” – with the PASS gallery, I will be able to deliver your photos to you quicker & more efficiently! Instead of having to wait on snail mail to arrive, you will get your images within a matter of seconds after I upload them to your gallery. Score.

I have tested out the PASS gallery on several of my clients. They absolutely loved it! Most of them were completely fine with not having to keep up with a CD since the photos are right there in front of them at all times – and the CD would probably just end up in the burned CD pile with your old 90’s jams, anyways. I did have a couple clients who still opted for a cd – which I am totally okay with & will gladly send one to them. But for the most part, I think this will be graciously welcomed with open arms.

Truly, I can’t wait for my clients to fall in LOVE with their online galleries. I can’t wait for them to be able to share their photos with those who mean the most to them. I hope you guys love this newest addition to CCP as much as I do!

xoxo,
Chandy
