Basically obsessed with the newest family member!

Okay, so – FANTASTIC EXCITING WONDERFULLY AWESOME (in my personal opinion) news to share! I have finally added the last piece of the puzzle to my wedding gear!!!!

Meet Macro. 100mm Macro, that is…194451

*I’m jumping for joy right now – okay, not literally…it’s 11:15pm and I’m actually chillin’ in my jammies letting you guys know how excited I am on the inside* Okay, anyways, I digress. The Canon 100mm Macro Lens is one of my favorite lenses of all time (I say that about all of my lenses lol) but there’s just something so different about the 100mm Macro. You can get close-ups of items and get crystal clear shots with just the perfect amount of bokeh (blur) that adds that creative and artistic touch. Obsessed. Utterly obsessed. All of my Facebook friends are probably wanting to ‘boo’ me offstage because I keep posting ring shots. *Le Sigh*

Anywhoodles, I can’t promise that I won’t be taking a million ring shots and showing them to you. Who knew there were millions of different ring set-ups you can get within a 10 foot radius? You just have to get creative! The second I got the 100mm Macro, I had to experiment with my own wedding band 😉 My hubby did fabulous – did he not?! Gosh, he’s so awesome. My ring sure does look purdy and makes for such a cool photo op.

So, this first picture (below) was taken in a tree. Above a bed of cactus. Worst idea, ummmm well, pretty much EVER! The wind picked up slightly…and just as I was so excited to get this shot…my ring fell into the bed of cactus. My eyes welled up with tears. No, literally…I was tearing up as I had to stick my delicate little hand into the needle infused plant. Needles.ALL.In.My.Hand. OUCH! But, I ended up getting my ring safe & sound and definitely learned my lesson. I just loved all of the different textures that surrounded the ring…especially the little orange dots to the left of the ring. Although I’m not sure what it is (hoping it’s not poisonous) I am so impressed that my 100mm was able to pick that little detail up!

Are you wondering how I got the shot below? I laid down my lamp onto the floor horizontally and placed my ring on the body of my lamp so I could get the bronzey-honeycombed looking surface. Turned out pretty cool!

The shot below was taken on a traveling memory box that my hubby (Daniel) & I have together. Kind of sentimental slash kind of cool looking and I definitely wanted to get a shot of our rings with it. D’awwwww 🙂

10155447_828852687130920_1232103673_nI just wanted to share with you guys my new little gem that has been added to the family! I seriously can’t wait to put this one to use. Sleep tight, sugarplums!
