So, it was Valentine’s Day this past Saturday & I mean – hellloooo – could the weather have been any more beautiful? I really just do not think so. Daniel & I had big plans this weekend until they all came to a screeching hault Friday afternoon when he found out he had to work this weekend. He works in the oil industry – and as most of you know, it’s a very scary time for us right now! Oil prices are down, which is AWESOME for the everyday consumer – but it’s the worst thing for hundreds of thousands of families who rely on it for living. Sometimes, I just feel so uneasy about it all right now. Daniel could be laid off in the blink of an eye. It’s not fun, but we know that no matter what happens – God will provide for us & take care of us! We are His children & I truly know that we are in safe hands no matter what happens in this crazy, ever-changing world!
I will admit, my heart sank a little when Daniel told me that we wouldn’t be spending V-day together. He’s such a hard worker and I wanted him to have a relaxing & fun day together. But once I thought about it – we don’t need a particular day to celebrate just because society tells us so…right? We celebrate & show our love for one another every single day without fail…and that’s more than enough for me. 🙂 It turned out to be an amazing day – I went with my grandma, my sister Trae & a few of our girlfriends & headed out to the winery! I became a wine-club member for the first time! I felt so “official”. hehe We hung out, talked about anything & everything, drank wine & listened to live music! It was perfect. Just a great time with the girls 🙂 After that, Daniel got off for the evening & we headed to some friends house for a crawfish boil!
Sunday we headed to the San Antonio Rodeo! I bought tickets for us back in December to see Pentatonix. That’s one of hubby’s favorite a cappella groups – so I thought I would surprise him with them! Have you heard of them? If not, just YouTube them and you will see how amazing they are!! After the concert, we ran into Kristin, the female vocalist of the group – and of course we had to get a pic with her! lol
After we met Kristin, we headed to check out the animals, grab some BBQ, shop & then we headed to the carnival & rode rides all day!!! It was so much fun! I felt like I was 13 yrs old again!
I hope you all had a lovely V-day together with your friends & family! xoxo
