So where shall I begin? Such exciting news & I can’t wait to share – so, without further adieu, here is a little backstory as to how things are unfolding…

Okay, I’m going to be blatantly honest here. When I began my photography career 3ish years ago, (not really knowing it was actually going to turn into a career, but always hoping & hustling to somehow make my dreams happen) the creative industry was very closed off & somewhat cold. It felt as though everyone viewed each other as competition & seemed overly snarly to one another, hoarding their goals & dreams to themselves, hoping that no one else would exceed their own success. BUMMER. I was totally turned-off by the “attitudes” & the overall unwillingness to embrace other creatives throughout their journeys. After trying to create friendships with others in the same industry, it truly was a huge disappointment as to how they responded. While I had hoped to make a few friends in the community, I knew it definitely wasn’t going to be easy. In the past few years, after putting myself out there & seemingly pouring my heart & soul into trying to create friendships with other creatives, I can say that I have met so many AMAZING & talented people who I cherish their friendships! After I heard about The Rising Tide’s mission – I knew I couldn’t pass this up.

The Rising Tide Society is a movement for all creatives – to help empower & encourage each other to thrive in the spirit of COMMUNITY OVER COMPETITION! This is for all of you creatives in the industry – whether it be a fellow or aspiring photographer, a florist, a wedding planner, a boutique owner, makeup artist, stylist & etc – this is the time for us to come together!

This is something that I truly feel that the city of San Antonio needs…very badly! The creative industry has been plagued by bitterness, comparison & fear – but the times are changing & I’m here to stand boldly & add my little part to make a positive impact on this industry! It doesn’t have to be full of comparison. We’re in this together friends! Oh, how I wish this was around a few years ago when I entered the creative industry.

I am truly honored that I have been chosen by The Rising Tide Society to be the designated leader in the city of San Antonio for ‪#‎TuesdaysTogether‬.  In the words of Natalie Franke – we are so much stronger when we are united than we could ever be apart! Our FIRST OFFICIAL meet-up in San Antonio will be on Tuesday June 9th! We’ll be using the hashtag ‪#‎TuesdaysTogetherSanAntonio‬ so we can all connect & share our posts on Instagram & Facebook. I will be posting the official spot & times where we will be meeting within the next few days in our local Facebook group — which you can join HERE! I would love it if any of you in the industry could join us for a time to come together, create friendships, and to share our dreams & goals. Let’s make a difference! A BIG difference! Once again, this is a community for ALL creatives – not only photographers. I am so excited to make WAVES throughout this industry throughout San Antonio & the surrounding areas while spreading the motto of Community Over Competition! Woot Woot!
